Two part workshop: Saturday, June 24th and July 8th, 5-7pm
Is your agility partner perfect practicing in the back yard or at the field when no one else is around but loses his mind in class or at a trial? Does he bark, chase other dogs, get the zoomies, or sniff when he is stressed or over aroused? Can you tell the difference?
This 2 part workshop is designed to help you and your dog develop reliable working skills around the high intensity game of agility.
We will look beyond the obvious - my dog runs off, to determine the reason for the disconnect and help your dog learn a new way of dealing with distractions. For many agility handlers the solution is to get the dog higher and higher instead of teaching the dog to switch to a calmer, more focused state of mind. We want to help our dogs learn to think and work instead of reacting.
Part 1 will begin to introduce the concepts and games of Control Unleashed. Dogs will be able to work individually, as well as, having some ring time to practice new training games around distractions.
Part 2 will continue to build on the skills from the previous workshop and introduce more games and training strategies.
